The County of Riverside through the Economic Development Agency sought to develop a new library facility to serve the community in the unincorporated northern boundary of the City of Riverside also known as Highgrove. The project would take a Design-Build approach and would seek LEED Certification at the completion of the project.
Design West Engineering was retained for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing design for the facility. The new ground up 7,000 square foot facility included several sustainable design measures such as CO2 sensors for automatic ventilation, specialized lighting controls to optimize daylighting, and highly efficient plumbing fixtures.
