California Baptist University's 160-acre main campus has been developed all around the University’s original century old 70,000 square foot James Building that is a registered historic landmark and prized by the City of Riverside. Originally built as a medical facility in an era with no knowledge of modern day systems and placed at the heart of a rapidly expanding campus, both the improvement and preservation of the James Building have really been one ongoing project over the last decades.
Design West has completed many different remodels of the remodels and upgrades at the James Building including:
Various laboratories for nursing, chemistry, biology, physics, and nutrition programs.
Visual Arts and Graphic Arts Program Classrooms
West Wing Remodel, 1st and 2nd floor 20,000 square foot remodel of classroom including reconfiguration of rooms to better utilize space.
With each upgrade, Design West has progressively incorporated the campus chilled water system into the building. With two feet of cast-in-place concrete between floors, there is a significant amount of investigation and problem solving that goes into each project.
