The Yucca Valley Animal Shelter is a 28,780 square foot animal control facility servicing the Town of Yucca Valley and surrounding communities within the Morongo Basin.
Design West provided MEP services to this animal control facility which consists of three buildings and several exercise yards for the dogs. The shelter has 59 dog runs and 36 cat cages, a for feral cats, and a room for other small animals and exotic creatures. In addition to recent upgrades, new additions include a laundry room with a washer and two dryers, and an expanded and updated food prep area with a three-bowl sink and a sanitizer.
The animal shelter, which is a joint project with the county of San Bernardino, was five years in the making, and cost nearly $4 million, with the Town’s contribution just under $1 million.
Seated on a five acre property, the shelter houses and cares for approximately 5,000 animals per year. Design West Engineering is proud to be a part of a project and provide services to a facility that makes an effort to place pets into good, permanent homes.
